It's one thing to hear tales of infamous backroom brilliance second-hand, stories about where a certain athlete or entertainer was the night before they gave the performance of a lifetime. It's quite another to be nearly on par with and in person around that celebrated performer, and witness first-hand the PG-rated and less-savory bouts of brilliance — exactly what Magic Johnson did while palling around and playing with Michael Jordan at his athletic peak during the 1992 Olympics.
In this animated short from TWIRI Sports, Magic details the card games between himself, Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Charles Barkley (with Christian Laettner serving delicious sammies) that would last into the wee hours. Hours that were wee for everyone but Jordan, who would sleep off a night (and morning's worth of card playing), nap, and then go play 18 holes of golf.
