BDL/Fourth-Place Medal Live Chat: Team USA vs. Spain for Olympic gold

Four years ago, a version of the U.S. men's national basketball team specifically designed to redeem the Olympic failure of 2004 ran up against a Spain team with top-flight NBA and European professional depth during pool play in Beijing. The result? A 119-82 spanking by the men in red, white and blue. One week later, the two teams met again with gold on the line. The result? One of the greatest gold medal games in Olympic history, which the U.S. won 118-107. (It was a four-point game with less than three minutes left, and much closer than that final indicates.)

Four years ago, we live-blogged that game. (Well, technically, Kelly did with Skeets and Trey, because I didn't work here then, but I swear, that "Devine" in the chat archive is me.) And now, with the U.S. and Spain about to square off in London and gold up for grabs once again, we'll do it again.

Join us back here at 9:30 a.m. Eastern time on Sunday for a joint BDL-FPM live chat of the gold-medal final of the men's basketball tournament at the 2012 Summer Olympics between Team USA and Spain. (Just a reminder: We won't be able to get to every question or comment, though we'll try our best, and please remember to keep things PG-13 and civil. Much obliged.)

Hit the jump to ask me what the score is.
