The NBA trade deadline can be a trying time, what with well-paid coaching resigning with little warning and star players changing their minds about their future homes every four seconds. It can all be a little enervating, and maybe even make you wonder why you pay so much attention to this league in the first place.
However, as a wise meteorologist once said, every cloud has a silver lining. For proof, check out the video above of Minnesota Timberwolves wunderkind Ricky Rubio, who recently suffered an unfortunate season-ending ACL tear, riding a scooter through a store. Even in his darkest hour, he is managing to have a good time.
Rubio posted the video to his Twitter account on Wednesday afternoon with a note that his knee is feeling better. Trey Kerby of The Basketball Jones, because he is something of an internet genius, added a backing track of the Beach Boys' classic "I Get Around" to ramp up the joy even more. This is how you turn a bad situation into something manageable. I fully expect to see a Mike D'Antoni sideline-yelling highlight video set to John Denver's "Country Roads" before the day is done.
