Video: Dave Chappelle visits the Warriors locker room

No comedian holds as much sway among NBA players, if not the public at large, as Dave Chappelle. His landmark Chappelle's Show hit its peak popularity at a time when every player in the league (except Kurt Thomas) was young enough to latch onto it. Plus, you know, the guy's hilarious, and a predominantly African-American league is likely to love a great African-American comedian.

So when Chappelle enters the NBA orbit, players care. Two weeks ago, he turned the Oklahoma City Thunder into fanboys when he performed in Sacramento on the night before they played the Kings. On Monday night, after catching the Golden State Warriors' 104-97 win over the Los Angeles Clippers in Oakland, Chappelle stopped by the GSW locker room to talk to the triumphant players. You can catch the video above taken by Marcus Thompson of the Contra Costa Times.

Chappelle spends a lot of time in the Bay Area and holds regular "secret" shows in local nightclubs, so it's not as if he's a stranger to a lot of these players. But it's exciting nonetheless, which the always boisterous Nate Robinson proves by quoting Chappelle's work in "Half Baked," a movie that came out 14 years ago. Or who knows, Robinson might also react this way when he sees anyone from Gallagher to Dennis Miller. The dude gets hyper easily.
