Five Sacramento Kings fans sink half-court shots for season tickets (Video)

The new Sacramento Kings ownership group led by Vivek Ranadive is currently doing whatever they can to regain the franchise's positive image. After years of shoddy ownership by Joe and Gavin Maloof, the Kings are trying to reach out to fans and reclaim their good name.

At a recent fan event, the Kings offered free season tickets to anyone who could hit a half-court shot. Given the typical performance in these giveaways, the organization probably reasoned they'd end up giving away one, maybe two ticket packages to lucky fans. It would be good publicity, and also an opportunity to give back to a few people who've put up with shoddy treatment in recent years.

They likely did not expect that five fans would sink their shots. Yet that's what happened, which means that Sleep Train Arena will have a few more comped Kings fans in attendance for the 2013-14 season.

Heck, maybe the team can even use them on the court. A 28-54 record will make a team pretty desperate for talent.
