Plenty of goofy things happen during an NBA season, but it's possible that there was no comment more ridiculous than Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard Monta Ellis's proclamation that the only differences between him and Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade were "more wins and two championship rings." Apart from the fact that those differences are pretty substantial, Monta's comments avoided the fact that Wade has been one of the best players in the league for the better part of a decade, not a questionably dependable scorer who struggles to contribute in other areas of the game. It was an ineffective argument, to put it lightly.
On Tuesday night, in Game 2 of the opening round series between the Bucks and Heat, Wade made a highlight-reel play that only stresses his superiority. Approximately midway through the third quarter, Wade swooped in for the rebound on a Mario Chalmers miss and finished an emphatic follow dunk right over Ellis. While Monta's ineffective boxout (or lack thereof) gave Wade an opening, it's not as if this was an irredeemable mistake by the Bucks guard. As we've come to learn, Wade is just this good.
