Michael Jordan’s new $12.4 million Jupiter Island, Fla., home is just about ready

Life's good when you're His Airness. Michael Jordan is just about to move into a new 28,000-square-foot, $12.4 million home on Florida's Jupiter Island. Among his neighbors will be one Tiger Woods.

The three-acre home, under construction since 2010, is located on three parcels in Jack Nicklaus' ultra-exclusive Bears Club community, which means you probably won't be able to wander in off the golf course and ask MJ for a glass of water. (You could possibly join the Bears Club ... if you could come up with the reported $350,000 initiation fee and $25,000 annual dues.)

According to local realtor Jeff Lichtenstein, Jordan's home has 11 bedrooms, a pool house, a two-story guard house and an athletic section with basketball court (of course). The media room apparently has a heavy-duty ventilation system for removing cigar smoke, appropriate for a guy who loves his stogies so much he once had the entire city of San Francisco upset with him over his smoking. Won't be a problem in his own home, we're guessing.

As for Jordan himself, he's been keeping busy with his team. This week, he stopped by the Charlotte Bobcats' practice and played a little one-on-one with guys like Gerald Henderson, Bismack Biyombo and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist:

Not bad for a 49-year-old guy. And he'll have plenty of space to rest his aching bones.
